Summary

Kalmar is a global leader in material handling equipment and services, who has placed sustainability at the core of business strategy. To strengthen the execution of this strategic ambition, the company sought to ensure that its Board and Executive Management have a comprehensive understanding of business-critical sustainability topics - including emerging regulations, leading practices, stakeholder expectations, and new business opportunities. In collaboration with the client’s sustainability team, Impaktly designed and delivered a tailored Sustainability Academy for the Board and top management. The content was built using the company’s existing materials, Impaktly’s insights and industry benchmarks, a global stakeholder analysis, and expert input from a leading law firm on regulatory developments.

Key outcomes

  • Comprehensive review of material sustainability topics

  • Industry and cross-industry benchmarks

  • Overview of key regulatory developments

  • Insights into stakeholder expectations and sustainability opportunities

  • Delivery of modular training sessions with tailored pre-reads

  • Learning materials designed for reuse across the organisation

Our approach

Impaktly developed a fully customised training program aligned with the Kalmar’s business strategy and sustainability priorities.

The academy consisted of five interactive training modules delivered over six months to the Board and Executive Management. Each session was supported by curated pre-read materials and facilitating informed discussions on key implications for the business.

The learning materials were also designed for scalability and reuse, enabling the organisation to extend the knowledge gained by its leadership across broader teams.

  • Industry benchmarking and stakeholder interviews & survey

  • Expert insights and focus group discussions

  • Collaboration with legal partner on regulatory developments
