Summary

Fiskars Group has long been recognized as a company that leads with integrity, combining a strong sustainability vision with a deep commitment to people and planet. Building on this foundation, the company set out to take a proactive stance on human rights by developing a comprehensive, forward-looking approach to identifying and addressing potential risks across its operations and global supply chains.

Partnering with Impaktly, Fiskars Group designed and implemented a human rights risk mapping and baseline for a due diligence framework. The collaboration brought together sustainability, compliance, HR, health & safety, and supply chain professionals in a shared effort to create a robust baseline for continuous improvement and meaningful impact.

The work establishes a new internal standard for responsible business practices across the organization and positions Fiskars Group as one of the most progressive companies in its sector, demonstrating how human rights due diligence can drive both ethical leadership and long-term business resilience.

Key outcomes

·      Comprehensive risk map spanning operations and supply chains

·      Shared framework for identifying, and prioritizing human rights risks

·      Clear baseline and roadmap for continuous due diligence

·      Strengthened internal collaboration, alignment, and ownership across functions

Our approach

Through a structured and co-creative process, Impaktly worked hand in hand with Fiskars Group’s cross-functional team to build clarity, ambition, and practical tools for embedding human rights considerations into everyday decision-making.

The process began by setting up a shared ambition that anchors Fiskars Group’s ongoing efforts to respect human rights, from its own workplaces to every link in its global value chain. Together, the team conducted an in-depth assessment of current practices, identifying overlaps, blind spots, and high-impact opportunities to integrate human rights into business practices.

A series of collaborative workshops and analyses then shaped a common framework and risk heatmap that provide Fiskars Group with a unified view of human rights priorities across its value chain. This framework now serves as the foundation for future due diligence and continuous improvement, combining global best practice with Fiskars Group’s characteristic pragmatism and commitment to doing what’s right.
