Preparing the Organisation for the Human Side of Technology & AI-driven Change

Client
Anonymous client

Multi-industry
Annual revenue
10-15 B€
Number of employees
25000 - 50000

Summary

Our client was progressing an ambitious digitalisation agenda that spanned customer-facing platforms, enterprise back-end systems, process automation, and the increasing use of AI and data. While individual initiatives had included assessments of processes and resources, there was no consolidated view of how these investments would affect the workforce as a whole.

Recognising this gap, the client sought to understand the broader implications of change across the organisation. Partnering with Impaktly, the objective was to develop a holistic overview that acknowledged the full scope of digitalisation efforts, assessed the magnitude of change to work performed across different functions, and identified the high-level skills and competence development needs required to support the transformation.

Key outcomes

  • Organisation-wide overview of the magnitude of change driven by AI & digitalisation initiatives

  • Clear articulation of how different technology investments shape work across functions

  • Shared understanding of workforce implications across leadership and key stakeholders

  • High-level view of emerging roles and development areas to support future ways of working

Our approach

Impaktly supported the client through a structured assessment designed to connect strategic technology investments with their human and organisational implications. The work began with desktop research to map the key drivers of change arising from the client’s digitalisation agenda, including platform development, automation, and the use of AI and data.

These insights were complemented by interviews with key stakeholders to capture perspectives on how work was expected to change across different parts of the organisation. A collaborative workshop then brought these perspectives together, enabling validation of the analysis and the development of a shared view on the magnitude and nature of change.

The result was a clear, high-level assessment that translates a complex portfolio of digital initiatives into an understandable picture of workforce impact. This overview now serves as a strategic foundation for further planning, supporting informed decision-making around skills development, change management, and future workforce readiness.
